press leak: LG Prada II in the works

April 26, 2008

We all know the phenomenal success of the LG Prada KE850 handset. If iPhone wasn’t around the KE850 would be top dog for ‘phone of the year’.

So why did iphone steal the show from LG Prada, well apple has a loyal “Apple Fan Boy” following from the Personal Computer market and create more buzz on the web then Saatchi and Saatchi ever could. To be honest, Let’s not forget LG Prada’s abysmal features such as the 2 million pixel camera which the iPhone beat hands down.

Ding Ding, Round Two. LG Prada are making a comeback with some very impressive feature set including a full QWERTY keyboard and slider. It’s hard to tell what LG Prada 2 will look like but we’ve managed to source an artists impression from Engadget.

LG Prada II specs will include:

* Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900). WCDMA 900/2100, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity
* 3 WQVGA 400×240 px TFT touchscreen
* 5 megapixel camera
* front camera for video calls
* Wi-Fi b/g connectivity
* USB 2.0, Bluetooth
* Full HTML browsing
* FM-Radio
* TV-out
* microSDHC memory card slot (up to 8GB)
* slide-out QWERTY keyboard

According to the leaked press release, LG Prada II will be even more focused on the overall design of the handset and user experience. LG Prada II is expected to launch in Forth Quarter of 2008.

Top 3 Weirdest And Most Useless iPod Accessories

April 26, 2008

When it comes to having the most ridiculous accessories of any product, the iPod is hands down the most popular product on the marketplace. There are literally thousands of pointless, though admittedly sometimes cool, accessories to have graced the iPod accessory list but somehow we’ve whittled it down to just three for your enjoyment.

3 – iPod Toilet Paper Dispenser

It’s a toilet roll dispenser and an iPod docking station. Speakers are hidden inside the arms of the dispenser and it supports all models of iPod that have a docking connector, or Shuffle USB. A very handy gadget I’m sure.

2 – The iPod Breathalyser

Personal breathalysers have become almost as popular as iPods. Well, OK, there’s a few of them about now. But why go to the hassle of owning a breathalyser and an iPod when you could have both conveniently wrapped in one pocket sized gadget? Genius.

iPod Stethoscope1 – The iPod Stethoscope

The iPod stehoscope doesn’t just provide doctors with a convenient and practical place to store their iPod. Oh no, because that would be useless. The iPod stethoscope also enables the lucky owner to record their patient’s beating hearts for playback at a later time.

Honourable mentions must also be made to such incredible items as the iPod George Foreman grill, the iPod G-String, and the pink iPod vibrator (it’s called the iBuzz if you’re wondering).

Why not show off your innovative ideas. Let us know what you think the next best useless iPod gadget should be.

Style And Features From The LG Secret

April 26, 2008

LG SecretLG took a giant leap in the mobile phone industry with the releases of the LG Chocolate and the LG Shine. As of the 24th

April (Europe release date - America and Asia to follow), they’ve taken their third step with the release of what is the slimmest, and arguably best looking, 5 Megapixel camera phone available in Europe.

The LG Secret offers the same level of design as its black label predecessors but packs in even more features. The carbon fibre body is not only designed to look good but also ensures that your mobile phone looks as good after several months as it did on day one. Even the LCD uses tempered glass to provide a ruggedness and hardiness not always associated with mobile phones.

120 frames per second of DivX video combines with the impressive 5 Megapixel camera and a plethora of high specification features to give a powerful mobile experience. The Touch Screen design is, in all probability, an attempt to cash in on the unparalleled success of the Apple iPhone but that’s not a reason to complain so long as it works properly – and all early indications show that it does just that.

LG have really stepped up to the plate recently as a serious mobile phone manufacturer, and the Secret is certain to carry on this lineage of high quality and good looking phones.

Prepare For A New Spate Of Wii Related Injuries

April 26, 2008

Wii Fit - Wii Heart AttackFinally, it’s here – the Wii Fit. Following a slew of software and uniquely entertaining additions to the Wii line up, the Wii Fit hit UK stores today. Bearing in mind the number of broken bones, smashed televisions, and assorted injuries already attributed to Wii gamers, this latest addition looks certain to attract a more cardiovascular range of injuries. But, it does look like it should provide a few giggles along the way.

Unfortunately, like all the latest video game fads, actually finding one might prove more difficult. Over quarter of a million unites are available throughout the country but if you haven’t already pre-ordered then you need to act quickly or face paying well over the odds on Ebay.

The Wii Fit includes the Wii Fit balance board and while the whole thing is unlikely to instantly convert anybody into an ultra-fit Adonis, combined with an hour or two of Wii Sport workout it will make an excellent introduction. What’s more you don’t have to embarrass yourself in front of the gym regulars.

The Wii has become renowned for being more accessible to a greater range of people compared to other games consoles. As well as looking certain to continue this trend, the Wii Fit board looks like being yet another popular addition to an already successful line up.

Merida Matts Trail 850-D Review And Specification

April 25, 2008

As an Internet nerd I spend quite a lot of time sat on my backside on my computer. The unfortunate result is that I do not get a great deal of exercise and have put on a few pounds! As the summer has finally arrived (sort of) I thought I would get myself a new bike and get back in the saddle.

I used to go cross country riding and have been known to thrash my bike through my local woods and hills so I knew a good mountain bike was the only way to go.  The model of choice was the Merida matts 850-D and I have been thouroughly testing it for two weeks now.

merida_850_ts.jpg

I started off purely on the road to build up my fitness and the bike handled it well because it is light and the tyres have quite a shallow tread.  The Rock Shox forks have a lock out system on them which is great for road riding and allows you to maintain a good pace.

The sloped frame is more than accommodating for the smaller person (I am only 5.6) but will easily hold a 6 footer as well!  After a week or so I was able to take the bike on to some rough stuff in my local woods and the 850 handled it well.  The Rockshox recon forks handled the rough terrain well and were more than adequate for my use.  Pro riders have informed me that the 850 is good at handling the rough stuff apart from chaos drops. However this is a trial bike and was never intended for that in the first place!

The shimano xt gears and quick shift is ace and I have no problems with them whatsoever as they change so smoothly.  The disc brakes are equally as sweet and provide excellent stopping power without the drama of bikes without quality breaks.

The main thing that I love about this bike is that it is light and looks great, the equipment is high spec and delivers a great trial ride. I will keep you posted on the 850 and let you know how it performs on the really rough stuff in a few weeks.

Quick Pitch Tent Is Great For Festivals

April 25, 2008

Quick Pitch Pop Up TentI am completely useless when it comes to putting up tents, especially if I have to do it on my own. The common result is a very restless nights sleep in a wind swept tent! This is not ideal for someone who actually loves the great outdoors!

Peugeot RC Z to go into production

April 25, 2008

Evo News are reporting that Peugeot’s RC Z will make it into production After several months of industry speculation, a Peugeot propaganda agent said “the company’s take on the Audi TT idea, is to enter production this year”. The production version is expected to make its début at October’s Paris motor show.

evo.co.uk’s sources say ‘We knew it couldn’t be a no, so that means it has to be a yes, We’ll make an announcement in the next few days’. When the car does eventually go into production and finally makes it to the sales floor, it will require changes and refinements to make the concept a reality. The changes could include all-steel body, a glass rear window, covered-in interior pillars able to incorporate airbags.

The super slim and sexy shape will stay the same, as will the carbonfibre roof and the 218bhp tune of the PSA/BMW 1.6-litre turbo engine. Pricing is exepected to be less then ‘premium’ rivals like the TT.

The Graphic Equalizer T-Shirt - Oh Yes

April 25, 2008

T-Qualizer Graphic Equaliser T-ShirtHave you sat listening to the latest Boyzone single musing as to why nobody has invented a t-shirt with its very own sound-sensitive graphic equaliser? Well, of course you have, because you’re only human after all.
