A well known source of Apple leaks and rumours has really outdone themselves today by unveiling what appears to be a white iPhone 4 running a new version of iOS. The video is either a true scoop or one of the best hoaxes of the year, Tinhte is known for being pretty accurate so let’s take a look at what they have turned up.
The video shows a prototype version of the phone with a new iOS which some are saying could be iOS 5 out in the wild early. It shows a new method of navigating apps which replaces app icons when double tapped with small screen shots that show a visual representation of the open application. It looks a lot like the preview version of OSx Lion which is due out in the summer.
The video also shows a ‘search iPhone’ bar which is similar to spotlight search just delivered in a slightly different way. Interestingly the white iPhone that is being used is a 64GB version, double the usual storage which has been a rumoured feature of the next iPhone for some time.
There are two videos in total both showing similar things, the second video in the series shows ‘finger fighter’, an app that has been used to showcase features on previous iPhone models. Tinhte have previously provided early pictures of the iPhone 4, leaked information surrounding the Macbook Pro refresh and details on the previous iPod touch – all of which turned out to be accurate.

At this stage its impossible to know whether the videos are of the next iOS let alone speculate on the number assigned to it, it could be iOS 4.4 or indeed 5. We will have to wait and see.
