Activision and Gunnar Optiks have joined forces to bring Call of Duty fans another cross-branded merchandise deal. The latest item is the Gunnar Optiks Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 glasses.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 glasses utilizes Gunnar Optiks’ i-AMP technology, and features a magnesium alloy frame, custom spring hinges, adjustable nose pads and wide coverage lenses. Just like other offerings from the company, this eyewear looks to reduce glare and eye fatigue via tinting, precise lens geometry and lightweight structural design.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s release this November will no doubt be the event of the year and is certain to achieve a new level of action-packed, unflinching entertainment,” said Gunnar Optiks President Rob Aarnes. “Not only will the limited edition eyewear provide a visual advantage to gamers through those long nights of intense action, but they will be able to show their affinity for the new blockbuster and look badass while playing it.”

The company explains that extended viewing of digital TV screens can create visual stress, dry eyes, eye fatigue, blurred vision, irritation and even headaches. Gunnar Optiks’ gaming eyewear can help reduce glare to improve the player’s focus and visual endurance for extended playing sessions.

The Gunnar Optiks Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gaming glasses are now available for pre-order for $99. They are also available with prescription lenses.

Now all Activision needs is branded hats, pants and T-Shirts. Which are probably already available 😉

What do you think of the glasses, a necessity or OTT?
