Android and iOS Users To Get Sony Playstation App

Posted on Dec 20 2010 - 8:09pm by Richard Sharp

The Playstation Phone is coming and news has been widespread over the past few weeks about the handset, some say it will be dubbed the Sony Ericsson Zeus Z1. Techy Kid has revealed that other operating systems will also receive a Playstation App in the near future.

They say that Android devices (Version 1.6 and over) and iOS devices (4 and above) will both soon have access to a ‘Playstation App’, if this is the case then the line between brands will become much more blurred than it is now.

Unfortunately the app will not allow users to play games but instead offer them a link to the Playstation network where they can check up on the latest games, share content via email and post all things Playstation to their Facebook or Twitter profiles.

The Playstation application will launch simultaneously in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands and Germany. It is unknown when but we do have a vague idea, expect it within the first few months of 2011.

So some exciting news for those of you who prefer Android or iOS, just a shame it won’t include the games, but that would be just wishful thinking.
