Android Gingerbread 2.3 on Nexus One Captured on Video

Google Hong Kong has played host today to an exciting video featuring the latest Android Gingerbread 2.3 operating system. The 2.47 second video showcases the upcoming OS on what seems to be a Google Nexus One Smartphone. The video demonstrates voice search, which may be a little difficult to understand unless you speak Cantonese – but as they say a picture, or in this case video, is worth a thousand words.

Watch the video, article continues after the video.

Other changes and features of note include the new user interface and status bar, not that thrilling but at least it’s a very strong indicator that Gingerbread will see Android devices evolving and changing.

There is still no solid release date for Android Gingerbread, however Eric Schmidt did reveal at the web 2.0 event that it would land “in the next few weeks,”, by our reckoning that should be very soon.

What do you make of the video and are you excited about the prospect of Android Gingerbread 2.3 before Christmas?

I don't understand… My HTC Droid Incredible on 2.2 Froyo already has a Google voice search (looks identical to the one in the video).

I watched the video and I didn't see anything different from the OS on my phone…

But then again, I'm new to the Droid community and perhaps maybe speaking out of turn.

    Thanks for the vid.
