Another day, another update on the eagerly anticipated iOS 4.2 for iPhone, iPod and iPad. If rumors are to be believed it is the latter that is causing the delay on the update – namely problems with Wi-Fi on the iPad.
Insiders have suggested that the update in its current state will not improve and may even make the iPad’s known Wi-Fi issues worse; in that respect it’s probably a good idea for Apple to wait before releasing 4.2. However, it’s still pretty frustrating for users who expected it earlier in November.
The update is also set to add Airplay, the ability to print from within apps and fix the bug that caused so many people problems when the daylight savings changes happened. The latest release date is rumored to be 24th November 2010.
Previous updates of iOS have not always gone as smoothly as Apple would have liked, with bugs frequently reported on Apple forums, we wonder if this puts people off updating right away?
