Apple iOs 4.2 will Boost iPad and iPhone Performance

In a possible bid to outshine its competitor Apple plan to release the IOS 4.2 operating system this Friday just a day after the release of Android Gingerbread – which will have the bigger impact? We will have to wait and see.

The news was leaked by an AT&T mole to MacStories, the company insider revealed that the new Apple update will be available from 10AM on Friday 12th November (Pacific time) – like the last update this is around 6pm in the UK.

The source is somewhat reliable as it was the same person who leaked details of the Mac OS X 10.6.5 which launched today. More clues come from Apple themselves who emailed app and game developers yesterday informing them that ‘iOS will soon be in the hands of millions of customers’ – a virtual kick up the backside for developers yet to release compatible software.

The same source also leaked details of today’s Mac OS X 10.6.5 launch, and claims the iOS 4.2 OS GM update was supposed to be with developers from October 26th.

One of the main winners from this update will be the iPad and its owners who will finally get all the benefits of the iPhone 4, the 4.2 update will also allow them to print wirelessly from apps, stream music , photos or movies to pc’s or TV’s via Airplay and there is also a major hint that internet tethering will be included – we will have to wait and see.

The iPhone 3g and 3gs will also benefit from the update, apparently speed will no longer be an issue (well as much of an issue any way). iPhone 4 owners will gain the above updates and a fix to the dreaded daylight savings time bug.
