Are we April Fools here at Gadgets and Gizmos?

Because it’s April Fools Day we thought we would let you know about an email newsletter that dropped into our inbox here at Gadgets and Gizmos. The wags (and we don’t mean wives and girlfriends!) at ‘I Want one of Those’ (iwoot) have sent us the latest email newsletter with ‘new unbelievable cutting edge technology’, and guess what……….. they are completely unbelievable!

There is the opportunity to turn your iPod into an iPhone with a special attachment called an iClamp. This device not only will upgrade your iPod to and iPhone but will also upgrade the camera to a 5 megapixel one too, and can be used with any network service provider all for £49.99, cheap at half the price!

Alternatively there are the Maverix HUD sunglasses that allow you to look cool and view the display on your iPhone, Blackberry or PDA from the reverse side of the glasses. You can connect to the internet via the Bluetooth and they don’t require batteries because of the sophisticated technology that uses your brain power from the electrodes on the sides of the glasses!

We particularly like their ‘ContaXt Digital Lenses’ as featured in the newsletter, which suggest that you can throw away all your conventional glasses or contact lenses and use these special lenses that require no prescription. Basically they are self adjusting to the degree of correction that your eyes require, will alter automatically as eyesight diminishes, auto clean so never need replacing and also the colour of them can be controlled by remote control, so you can be blue eyed one day and brown eyed the next. Also a new ‘Bluetooth’ version is in development and will allow for sending retinal images to any bluetooth enabled device as a JPG. The ContaXt lenses use nanotechnology and incorporate ‘nanobots’ that are powered by electrolytes found in tears, so no batteries required. A real bargain at £109.99– what a hoot, iwoot!

Indeed, and they really should take them down now that it is no longer April Fools day.

As an Optometrist I was reading about the “Contaxt” thinking…hmmm, surely I should have heard of this. 🙂
