Battlefield 3 is mere months away and developer Dice has began full scale plans for an initial alpha testing schedule. In fact, they are inviting gamers to step forward for the Alpha testing program on their website. They will have met various hardware requirements and have probably tested games before, we’ve yet to hear from anyone who has been invited which suggests places are strictly limited.
The Alpha testing will make way for Beta testing in September, which will aim to iron out any kinks and bugs before the official October 28th release date. DICE have explained that the Beta stage will be a “highly tech focused test period where the main purpose is to do a number of server related tests in preparation for game launch.”

Although the Alpha testing phase was invite only, Beta testers will be much larger in number. DICE has invited gamers to register their interest for future inclusion via email if they have recently bought a special edition of Medal of Honor. They have also posted on their site “If you’d like to have a chance to be called upon make sure to register for our newsletter and ensure your Veteran status is up to date.”
DICE will be trying to make their latest game as solid as possible as it will be going head to head with Modern Warfare 3. The run up to Christmas is set to be an exciting one this year.
Which game are you looking forward to?
