For those hardcore Diablo fans who already have access to the Diablo 3 beta, Blizzard has released the Diablo 3 Skill Calculator in its Battle.net website. The Diablo 3 Skill Calculator enables users to plan and decide on how to grow their character before the game finally gets released.
Building a character in Diablo 3 is, as they say online, serious business, and if you are planning to play or are already playing the beta version of the game, minute details should be one of your concerns.
It is very easy to use the skill calculator. All you need to do is to choose a character class (Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor or Wizard), and then choose three passive skills and six active skills. You can also modify a character’s active skill by putting in one of five runestone types.
Runestones can change the effects of an ability, improving them in the process. Runestones do not only improve the damage of an ability, it changes them. For example, a specific runestone can add homing rockets to a Demon Hunter’s strafing triple shot. These can be used to nail down a player’s ideal build before his character reaches that level.
In the game, players will get two active skills at level 1, then another at level 6, and another for every six levels until six active skills are unlocked. Players can get passive skill slots when they reach levels 10, 20 and 30.
It is not going to be an accurate skill build for a character, though. Blizzard notes that the information are “based on a level 60 character and rank 7 runestones.”
