Blu rays of the month November 2009

It’s winter, it’s cold and we all want to be tucked up in bed rather that outside in the grim weather, preferably with some of the hottest Blu ray releases (and some warm buttered popcorn!) Luckily, there are some absolute scorchers due for release on Blu ray this November, so you’ll have plenty of excuses to curl up in front of the telly.

wallace-and-gromit-blu-ray-collectionWallace & Gromit: The Complete Collection
Due for release: 2nd November
Everyone loves Wallace and Gromit, with this Blu ray offering all of their family-friendly favourites on the one disc. bruno-blu-rayBruno
Due for release: 9th November
Whether you love him or hate him, Sacha Baron Cohen knows how to make comedy that really gets people talking, with Borat, Da Ali G Show and Talladega Nights among his successes. Bruno is the best (or arguably the worst) in his series of cringe-worthy comedy, following the camp character or Bruno as he travels the world in his search for fame. Bruno goes even further than Borat, pulling no punches when it comes to embarrassing celebrities, politicians, terrorists and even cage fighters!

night-at-the-museum-2-blu-rayNight at the Museum 2
Due for release: 9th November
If you loved Night at the Museum then Night at the Museum 2 is a definite must for your Blu Ray Collection. Once again the hapless Larry Daly (played by Ben Stiller) finds himself in a museum where things aren’t quite as quiet as they may seem! Expect plenty of action, comedy and slapstick humour in this wild and wacky return to the Smithsonian.

startrek-blu-rayStar Trek
Due for release : 16th November
Possibly the most talked-about film of the year, J.J Abrams’ Star Trek was billed as “not your father’s Star Trek”, but don’t be fooled into thinking he has mangled the much-loved series. Although hugely different to the original Star Trek, this film stays faithful to the characters, setting and feel – yet still provides an amazing roller-coaster ride of action, humour, romance and fun. There are plenty of inside references to keep the Trekkies happy, but not enough that anyone can enjoy this film without feeling excluded or confused.

ice_age_3_blu_rayIce Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Due for release: 23rd November
Ellie, Manny, Sid and Diego are back again in the third film in the computer-generated Ice Age Series. Fans of the first two films will love this return to form, with this family-friendly film a real hit with the kids. Of course, Scrat is back again in his endless and ever-desperate search for an acorn – but this time he may find himself distracted by a rather shapely female squirrel.

sopranos-series-1-blu-rayThe Sopranos Season 1

A smash hit both here in the UK and across the pond, this box set of the entire first season of the Sopranos follows Tony Soprano and his dysfunctional American family. transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-blu-rayTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen
