Braun have been producing the mobileshave, aka pocket Go range for a couple of decades now and two things always seem to ring true. First they are always compact and second they are always competitively priced. The Braun Mobile shave M-90 we are reviewing today only costs around £20 which is amazing when you consider the convenience it brings, but can something so small and cheap deliver a good enough shave to own one? In short, yes it does but we thought a more in-depth report was probably in order.

Design
The M-90 comes from a long line of mobile shavers and the design fundamentally remains the same. A sliding cover reveals the shaver head, a foil based shaver that is thinner than a more expensive shaver which serves the purpose of cutting hairs closer to the skin.
A pop out trimmer is a neat inclusion and allows accurate tidying of sideburns or other designer facial hair. Braun even include a small brush on the underside of the shaver to clean out stubborn hair that can’t be washed away under the tap – yep that’s right it can be cleaned under running water making it simple to maintain and keep clean.
Function
Braun market this shaver at people who like to maintain grooming and this is the key to living with an electric shaver however much it costs. I found it worked particularly well when used frequently to keep my face smooth, this works a treat if you wet shave in the morning and want a tidy up in the evening or vice-versa. That said it is capable of shaving two day growth with just the odd stray hair remaining (mainly around the neckline).
The built in trimmer works well for maintaining longer hair on the face such as leveling of sideburns or trimming the edges of a mustache. It’s not designed to level out hair though only to sculpt.
Our Verdict
The Braun M-90 mobile shaver is fantastic value punching way above its weight. We’d recommend it to anyone who wants to keep a clean look whilst on the move and because its such a bargain you can keep one in the car or a drawer in the office and not worry about bringing it home. People who travel regularly will also find it a lifesaver, especially if there is no hot water for a wet shave or a charging point as it runs on AA batteries and doesn’t require water.
