Apple Inc. is expected to unveil the iPhone 5 any day (or week) now and Case-Mate, a mobile accessory maker, have accidentally put up a page on its website that features new iPhone 5 cases.
Case-Mate immediately took the page down, but not before Apple news site Boy Genius Report and others documented the six colorful case designs and posted the images for all to see.
According to Boy Genius Report, Case-Mate published a page with six different cover types for the new iPhone. Rumors of an upcoming slimmer and wider iPhone has been circulating for some time now, and these cases seem to confirm these rumors.
“The wait is almost over as the next generation iPhone 5/iPhone 4S will be released in the coming weeks,” showed the landing page after the original case page was removed by Case-Mate. “The new iPhone promises more technology than ever, all in the palm of your hand. The guessing game continues whether Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S. Case-Mate will be ready with a collection of iPhone 5 cases / iPhone 4S cases to protect your new iPhone in your own personal style.”
The removal of the page seems to suggest that it was not posted intentionally, but This Is My next said that it may be a ploy to get more people to visit the page or they really know what the iPhone 5 looks like.
Apple is expected to announce the fifth-generation iPhone in the coming weeks, possibly before the end of the month. Recent reports suggested that Foxconn Electronics have been producing the device, while the company is putting the finishing touches on its new iOS 5, which is said to run the new handset.
