Are you happy with the size and shape of the screen on your iPhone? Go on; admit that you would be happy with a bigger screen and a curved display. You know it makes sense. Well, the latest reports suggest that Apple is working on designs for a couple of new iPhones. These designs give screen sizes of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. The change in the screen size isn’t the only adjustment that’s in the pipeline. Another interesting change is that it looks like the new phones will come with curved screens. Of course, the Samsung...

The fourth quarter results from technology giant Apple have revealed more sales but less profit. The total profit for the quarter worked out as $7.5 billion, which is £4.6 billion. This is higher than analysts had expected the firm’s profits to be. Among the standout facts we can see that sales of the iPhone shot up by 26% to almost 34 million. However, overall the financial year ended with the disappointing news that Apple had suffered its first drop in earnings in over a decade. Net profits for the year ended up at $37 billion. Tim...

Apple Maps is a useful way of making sure that you get around quickly and safely. Unless you end up on an airport runway in Alaska, that is. The issue is that a problem with the app has been telling drivers to go along the taxiway at Fairbanks International Airport. Staff from the airport confirmed to the Alaska Dispatch newspaper that in the space of three week two drivers have followed the instructions from Apple but then carried on past various signs and warnings and ended up one of the airport’s runways.  Now, they have had to close...

How much do you think an original Apple device would cost? We aren’t talking here about the first generation iPhone or anything so modern and easy to find. No sir, we are talking about a computer which was made back when white flared suits were in fashion and giant gold medallions were a fairly sensible fashion accessory. A Limited Edition Model That’s right, we are talking about an Apple 1 computer from way back in 1976. It is thought that there are only 6 left in the world which are in working order. The specific one we are talking...

Gear4 has grown massively over the past few years; both in stature and the variety of products they offer. They’ve sent their latest StreetParty 5 speaker dock for the iPhone 5 for us to review, but will it live up to the already established HouseParty and StreetParty 4 docks?   What you get   – 1 x StreetParty Dock – 1 X power adapter – Instruction manual Audio on the move Gear4 hasn’t really chosen the most suitable name for a portable product as the name StreetParty makes it sound like an all...

So you’ve managed to get your mitts on an Apple iPhone 5 and your primary concern is keeping it looking good, whilst maintaining that cool factor. You want to show it off, right? We’ve got five of the latest cases that will help you do just that. Griffin’s Reveal Case – 1mm Clear Protection with a splash of colour Traditional bumper cases are great because they add a flair of colour, but are flawed because they don’t cover the back of the iPhone. This is where the Reveal case from Griffin comes in because...

Apple announced their brand new iPhone 5 earlier in the week which has been welcomed with mixed feelings. I for one can’t wait to get my hands on one, my hardest decision will be choosing a colour and even that could come down to a flip of a coin. So for me it’s a simple choice; network providers on the other hand are having bigger problems. As you may remember I switched to Giffgaff earlier in the year. I cut down my sim and was ready to go. The problem with the iPhone 5 is that is uses a nano sim; a thinner and smaller sim...

Just days away from the unveiling of Apple’s brand new iPhone, Korean competitor Samsung has announced that they will be suing the Cupertino-based company over the LTE technology. A report from a Korean source notes that the Korean tech giant will sue Apple in countries in Europe and Apple’s home turf the United States over the iPhone 5’s release for infringing its 4G LTE connectivity patents. The Korean source said that “the Korea’s tech giant’s move came immediately after SK Telecom confirmed Monday...

How do you prop your iPad u whilst using it? On a cushion, chair leg or on your knee is the usual answer which can be uncomfortable after a while. The obvious answer up until now has been to stand it on a desk using your smart cover or whack it in a dock, again both of these solutions have their problems. This week I received IPEVO’s PadPillow (formally known as the iPad Cushi) and it claims to solve of these problems. From the photos i’ve seen this seems to be the case but only several hours of ‘working’ with the...

Consumers, bloggers and techno journalists have been predicting the iPhone 5 release date for almost two years now (thanks to last years 4S incarnation). Today all those rumours stop, almost. Apple has put out invites for an event on 12th September 2012 with a cunning iOS style 12 logo. Instead of casting an upside down 12 it shows the number 5; clever Apple spin doctors have just announced the iPhone 5 will be announced on the 12th September.   When will the release date be? In years gone by various iPhone launches have been just...
