HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer Review
July 28, 2010

Are you looking for a new printer? Would you like one which is compact, user friendly, versatile and on offer? Well HP have been making compact all in one printers for years all with a similar look and feel. I had one of the first models (HP 1215) when I was at university and it still works to this day, we have reviewed the latest HP Deskjet F4580 Multi function printer to see what has changed and if it is as good as the origional.
Design
With dimensions of 162 x 291 x 438 mm (H x D x W), the HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer is one of these compact, Nobby Stiles types of printers which packs a lot of punch into its small, dynamic frame. Whether you consider it to be as good looking as Mr Stiles is down to personal preference. The best thing about this size is that it will fit easily into any office, bedroom or uni room of any size.
Notable Specifications
Nowadays no machine is worthwhile if it only does one thing, is it? This is a combined printer, scanner and photocopier.
The best part of this printer is that it comes wireless ready, so you have a lot more mobility and flexibility than with a cabled printer. The technical data is that it prints up to 28 ppm in black and up to a highly respectable 22 ppm colour. The scanner’s maximum resolution is a powerful 1200 x 2400 dpi, which give you really sharp images once uploaded to your pc or laptop, again this can be done wirelessly.
Value
Experienced internet bargain sniffers will not be expecting to pay more than 50 pounds for this little combined printer, scanner and photocopier. We have found some of the better deals and posted them below this article, we like to help where we can.
Summary
The HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer is a very decent choice for a small office, home workers or just someone who prints, copies or scans a lot of things. The current price is good and you can see why this is a top selling machine. We have to admit the addition of wireless and the improved resolution, print speed and wireless printing have allowed this little all in one to remain a real bargain machine packed with spec.

Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet Printer Review
July 11, 2010

I remember once reading that Earth timeline article where the whole history of the planet is condensed into one day. Don’t be coy, you know the one I mean. The dinosaurs don’t appear until around 11pm and humans appear at about 1 minute to midnight. Why do I bring this up now? I was just thinking about the incredibly rapid pace of development and change in the technological world, that’s all. On the timeline mentioned computers appear just as the minute hand is brushing the 12, yet we live in an age where we are so used to being offered increasingly smaller, faster and better machines as though it was no big deal. It seems like not so long ago that I worked in a fairly modern office and used a huge printer that churned out badly printed, scrunched up, scalding hot copies at a rate of about 2 an hour. Now you buy a little printer like the Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet, which performs a lot better and costs only..ah wait, we need to keep some sort of tension in here don’t we.
Design
It’s got a 4.3” web enabled touch screen and it is just about light and compact enough for you carry it throughout a three legged race without any real problems.
Specifications
It is one of those three in one machines which we all love; it scans, it copies and it prints. When I come to think about it my office had a huge separate photocopier as well. The print speed on mono is up to 33ppm and on colour 30ppm. 2400X1200 dpi resolution is offered. It also has integrated wireless capabilities.
Value
You know how it works. Mr Computer speaks to his friend, Miss Internet, and after a bit of harmless flirting she gives him the good news. In this case the good news is that if you have one hundred pounds then you have a penny too much to buy the Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet Printer.
Summary
Have you got a small office? Do you often print travel tickets or concert tickets? Do you copy inflammatory pamphlets for a revolutionary faction which is going to bring down the establishment? Whatever your printing, copying and scanning needs are you would do well to bear this little printer in mind.
Epson SX600FW All In One Multi Function Printer Review
March 9, 2009
The Epson Stylus SX600FW is a neat all in one printer that is crammed full of features. Ranging in price from £97.86 at PC World.co.uk to £134.90 from Amazon.co.uk, the Epson Stylus SX600FW all in one printer with fax and WIFI is perfectly suited to its target audience of small office and home use. The Epson Stylus is a stylish compact printer, with a sleeky curved black design that makes it aesthetically a winner. However, this printer has more than good looks to offer. It combines the technologies of printer, scanner, copier and fax together with WIFI and Ethernet networking. The Epson Stylus SX600FW also features an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) with a 30 page capacity, which means that handling multiple documents is no longer an arduous task.
Cost effective and offering value for money, the Epson Stylus SX600FW works on an individual colour ink cartridge system (although, multi-packs are also available to buy). This system means that you only have to replace the colours that you actually use. This is a fantastic feature for consumers, who are all too familiar with the frustration of having to replace the whole cartridge when you seemingly only ever print in black and white!
Aside from the versatility of the Epson Stylus SX600FW, its key selling point is in its WIFI and Ethernet technology, which means it has the capacity to allow you to print photos, send faxes and make copies without having to be connected to a PC. However, initial set up will require you to connect to a PC, you can do this by using the supplied Network Cable. Follow the simple instructions to get your wireless network connection up and running. Once this is done you can disconnect the lead and complete the set up using your WPA or WEP code to make your connection secure.

The control panel is functional and easy to use and navigating between each of the Epson Stylus SX600FW’s four modes is a simple task. The control panel comprises a standard number pad and large navigational control buttons, such as up/down for copy numbers, large on/off buttons and last number redial and quick dial fax number options. The 6.3 cm LCD viewer on the control panel has the functionality to allow you to view pictures before you print. Whether you choose to use the memory card reader or connect to a PictBridge compatible camera slot, the Epson Stylus will quickly and efficiently print your selected pictures. You can even remove red eye with the Epson Easy Photo Print feature. Supported memory cards include Compact Flash (Memory card only), MicroDrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, MagicGate Memory Stick, MagicGate Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, SD, SDHC, MiniSD, MiniSDHC, MicroSD, MicroSDHC, Multi Media Card, xD-Picture card, xD-Picture card Type-M, and xD-Picture card Type-H. The printer also features high speed USB connectivity.
The Epson Stylus SX600FW offers high-speed printing up to 38 ppm in black and white and colour, which is about 20 seconds for a page comprising coloured pictures and text. By choosing either quiet mode or high speed printing using the integrated software you can easily adjust the speed and noise level of your Epson Stylus.
The Epson Stylus SX600FW fax functions include (Type of fax) Walk-up black and white and colour fax capability, speeds of up to 33.6kbps, memory recall of up to 60 names and numbers, fax transmission speeds of approximately three seconds per page and page memory of up to 180 pages.
The Epson Stylus SX600FW supports Windows 2000/XP/XP-x64/Vista, Mac OS 10.3.9/10.4.x/10.5.x operating systems. Additional features include the Event Manager, which allows you to assign applications to certain buttons, such as Start, Copy, E-mail and PDF. The Epson Stylus SX600FW also features a very useful ‘web-to-print’ facility, which resizes websites to fit inside paper margins. The Epson Stylus integrated software can even be used to also allow you to create stationary. You can use images from your memory cards to watermark print paper and even create lined or squared paper.
The Epson Stylus SX600FW will deliver laser like texts document. Photo prints on the Epson Stylus SX600FW are executed with photo lab quality. When used in conjunction with Epson photo print paper, pictures printed on the Epson Stylus will be smudge proof, waterproof and remain fade proof for up to 200 years (if stored within a photo album)!
In conclusion, the Epson Stylus SX600FW is an excellent value for money all round printer. It has superb usability and functionality, it is easy to set up and would be a fantastic addition to any home or small office workspace. Across the board reviews for this printer have been very positive from both distributors and consumers alike.
HP Photosmart C4485 All In One Printer Review
October 23, 2008
The HP Photosmart C4485 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier is designed for people who want to be able to print everything from documents and web pages to photos – with the ability to scan and copy from the same compact device.
HP Photosmart C4380 All In One Printer Review
August 27, 2008
The HP Photosmart C4380 all-in-one printer has a lot of features and you can pick one up for £80. The range of features it has means that it’s most definitely an all-in-one rather than a 3-in-1 although simplistically it features a printer, scanner, and copier. Geared towards the home office or small business worker it combines high quality prints, excellent features, and speedy printing times to make it a highly desirable addition to the office.
The wireless printer is extremely portable but its not lightweight in terms of options. You can print directly from memory cards, digital cameras, and other external storage devices and it includes a 3.8” preview screen so you can view them and make any minor adjustments before you print them.
It’s possible to print a photograph in under 30 seconds and general printing speeds of up to 30 pages per minute in mono and 23 in colour means it’s no slouch in the printing speed department. As a standalone copier it offers one touch copying so is great for small businesses limited on budget or space.
Other features include borderless printing, automatic paper type sensing, and two different HP Photosmart software packages.

Canon Announces Two New Compact Printers
May 15, 2008
Canon has recently announced that it will be launching two new compact printers to be included as part of the Selphy range. The CP760 and CP770 are both said to offer lab quality prints that will last for 100 years (presumably, that hasn’t been tested yet, otherwise these printers have been in development for a very long time indeed).
The CP760 offers a simple layout and intuitive interface, direct printing from a range of memory cards, and a 2.5” LCD display screen. Red Eye Correction and Auto Image Correction with Face Brightening also ensure that consumers get the very best quality prints.
The CP770 includes the same features, but it also comes inclusive with its own storage container – granted, it does look a but like a plastic Dulux paint tin, but its handy none the less. The more advanced CP770 also offers optional wireless printing capabilities and an optional battery pack.
The CP760 is due in shops some time this month, while you will have to wait a few weeks until June before its big brother, the CP770 is available. The Selphy range offers an affordable option when it comes to printing high quality photographs and images but I do genuinely have to question the design of the carrier for the CP770.
