The new AirPrint feature, allows Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch to print documents wirelessly using Airprint-enabled printers without having to install the device’s drivers.

“We’re delighted users of Epson’s AirPrint-enabled printers will now be able to print directly from their iOS devices,” said Ian Cameron, general manager of global communications at Epson. “With AirPrint, no software or setup is required, so documents, photos and emails can be quickly and easily printed to any AirPrint-enabled Epson printer.”

The printing giant not only announced its compatibility with Airprint for Apple iOS devices, it also said that all of its major inkjet printers released from autumn will be compatible with Google Cloud Print.

“Epson is all about providing customers with the maximum possible value,” Cameron added. “Combining Epson’s state-of-the-art printers for enterprise and the home together with the options offered by Google Cloud Print, liberates busy Epson customers by allowing them to print whenever and from wherever they want.”

It’s about time another brand became iPad and iPhone compatible. It’s just a shame current models won’t be able to make use of the technology. Basically people traveling, camping or attending festivals will love this gadget.

Mobile phone owners can buzz their photos via bluetooth to the GL10, likewise PC or Mac users can print via bluetooth or good old usb. The photos that come out are of the miniature variety, 3inches by 4inches wide on premium paper with a peel able sticky back. Like past Polaroid snappers this printer requires no ink as it uses thermal paper to produce full colour images that are waterproof and tear resistant, oh and you can still shake them to aid developing.

Polaroid say that you can print 35 photos on a single charge making it the ideal gizmo for instant photo printing. When it goes on sale at Firebox late next month it will retail for £199.99.

Do you think their is still life left in the old Polaroid concept?

Lady Gaga endorsed Polaroid GL10 Printer Launched is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer Review

Printers

Reviews

printer

Are you looking for a new printer? Would you like one which is compact, user friendly, versatile and on offer? Well HP have been making compact all in one printers for years all with a similar look and feel. I had one of the first models (HP 1215) when I was at university and it still works to this day, we have reviewed the latest HP Deskjet F4580 Multi function printer to see what has changed and if it is as good as the origional.

Design

With dimensions of 162 x 291 x 438 mm (H x D x W), the HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer is one of these compact, Nobby Stiles types of printers which packs a lot of punch into its small, dynamic frame. Whether you consider it to be as good looking as Mr Stiles is down to personal preference. The best thing about this size is that it will fit easily into any office, bedroom or uni room of any size.

Notable Specifications

Nowadays no machine is worthwhile if it only does one thing, is it? This is a combined printer, scanner and photocopier.

The best part of this printer is that it comes wireless ready, so you have a lot more mobility and flexibility than with a cabled printer. The technical data is that it prints up to 28 ppm in black and up to a highly respectable 22 ppm colour. The scanner’s maximum resolution is a powerful 1200 x 2400 dpi, which give you really sharp images once uploaded to your pc or laptop, again this can be done wirelessly.

Value

Experienced internet bargain sniffers will not be expecting to pay more than 50 pounds for this little combined printer, scanner and photocopier. We have found some of the better deals and posted them below this article, we like to help where we can.

Summary

The HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer is a very decent choice for a small office, home workers or just someone who prints, copies or scans a lot of things. The current price is good and you can see why this is a top selling machine. We have to admit the addition of wireless and the improved resolution, print speed and wireless printing have allowed this little all in one to remain a real bargain machine packed with spec.

Buy from : PC world - 10% off with the voucher code ‘10PRINT‘.

HP DeskJet F4580 Multifunction Inkjet Printer Review is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet Printer Review

Printers

Reviews

I remember once reading that Earth timeline article where the whole history of the planet is condensed into one day. Don’t be coy, you know the one I mean. The dinosaurs don’t appear until around 11pm and humans appear at about 1 minute to midnight. Why do I bring this up now? I was just thinking about the incredibly rapid pace of development and change in the technological world, that’s all. On the timeline mentioned computers appear just as the minute hand is brushing the 12, yet we live in an age where we are so used to being offered increasingly smaller, faster and better machines as though it was no big deal. It seems like not so long ago that I worked in a fairly modern office and used a huge printer that churned out badly printed, scrunched up, scalding hot copies at a rate of about 2 an hour. Now you buy a little printer like the Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet, which performs a lot better and costs only..ah wait, we need to keep some sort of tension in here don’t we.

Design

It’s got a 4.3” web enabled touch screen and it is just about light and compact enough for you carry it throughout a three legged race without any real problems.

Specifications

It is one of those three in one machines which we all love; it scans, it copies and it prints. When I come to think about it my office had a huge separate photocopier as well. The print speed on mono is up to 33ppm and on colour 30ppm. 2400X1200 dpi resolution is offered. It also has integrated wireless capabilities.

Value

You know how it works. Mr Computer speaks to his friend, Miss Internet, and after a bit of harmless flirting she gives him the good news. In this case the good news is that if you have one hundred pounds then you have a penny too much to buy the Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet Printer.

Summary

Have you got a small office? Do you often print travel tickets or concert tickets? Do you copy inflammatory pamphlets for a revolutionary faction which is going to bring down the establishment? Whatever your printing, copying and scanning needs are you would do well to bear this little printer in mind.

Lexmark Interact S605 Multifunction Inkjet Printer Review is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

Epson SX600FW All In One Multi Function Printer Review

Printers

Reviews

The Epson Stylus SX600FW is a neat all in one printer that is crammed full of features. It combines the technologies of printer, scanner, copier and fax together with WIFI and Ethernet networking. The Epson Stylus SX600FW also features an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) with a 30 page capacity, which means that handling multiple documents is no longer an arduous task.

Cost effective and offering value for money, the Epson Stylus SX600FW works on an individual colour ink cartridge system (although, multi-packs are also available to buy). This system means that you only have to replace the colours that you actually use. This is a fantastic feature for consumers, who are all too familiar with the frustration of having to replace the whole cartridge when you seemingly only ever print in black and white!

Aside from the versatility of the Epson Stylus SX600FW, its key selling point is in its WIFI and Ethernet technology, which means it has the capacity to allow you to print photos, send faxes and make copies without having to be connected to a PC. Follow the simple instructions to get your wireless network connection up and running. Once this is done you can disconnect the lead and complete the set up using your WPA or WEP code to make your connection secure.

The control panel is functional and easy to use and navigating between each of the Epson Stylus SX600FW’s four modes is a simple task. The 6.3 cm LCD viewer on the control panel has the functionality to allow you to view pictures before you print. Across the board reviews for this printer have been very positive from both distributors and consumers alike.

Epson SX600FW All In One Multi Function Printer Review is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

HP Photosmart C4485 All In One Printer Review

Gadget Offers

Printers

The HP Photosmart C4485 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier is designed for people who want to be able to print everything from documents and web pages to photos – with the ability to scan and copy …

HP Photosmart C4485 All In One Printer Review is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

The HP Photosmart C4485 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier is designed for people who want to be able to print everything from documents and web pages to photos – with the ability to scan and copy from the same compact device.

Print, scan and copy paperwork, photos and more with one versatile machine.
Enjoy the convenience of being able to scan and copy as well with this compact all-in-one printer and scanner. The range of features it has means that it’s most definitely an all-in-one rather than a 3-in-1 although simplistically it features a printer, scanner, and copier. Geared towards the home office or small business worker it combines high quality prints, excellent features, and speedy printing times to make it a highly desirable addition to the office.

The wireless printer is extremely portable but its not lightweight in terms of options. You can print directly from memory cards, digital cameras, and other external storage devices and it includes a 3.8” preview screen so you can view them and make any minor adjustments before you print them.

It’s possible to print a photograph in under 30 seconds and general printing speeds of up to 30 pages per minute in mono and 23 in colour means it’s no slouch in the printing speed department. As a standalone copier it offers one touch copying so is great for small businesses limited on budget or space.

Other features include borderless printing, automatic paper type sensing, and two different HP Photosmart software packages.

Buy your HP C4380 printer from PC world today

HP Photosmart C4380 All In One Printer Review is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

Canon Pixma iP4500 Photo Printer Review

Gadget Offers

Printers

Canon Pixma iP4500 – Single Function Photo Printer
£79.99

The Canon Pixma iP4500 is a versatile photo and document printer that offers digital camera owners extra functionality, quality and high speed photo printing. This printer is competitively priced and you certainly get a great deal of printer for your money.

Photo printing
The Canon Pixma iP4500 produces superior quality photo prints with fine detail and smooth colour gradations, thanks to tiny 1picolitre ink droplets and a high 9600x2400dpi maximum print resolution (on suitable media). The 5 Single Ink system includes a dye-based black that brings extra depth and contrast to photos. You can print photos directly from your PictBridge-ready digital camera or camcorder and the Pixma iP4500 can print a 10x15cm borderless photo in as little as 21 seconds in Standard Mode. You can also apply Red Eye Removal, face brightening and more with the image editing software included with the printer.

Document printing
The Pixma iP4500 is also an extremely capable document printer. Print documents perfectly at up to 31pages per minute in mono or 24ppm in colour, single or double-sided. Whether correspondence, business paperwork, homework or web pages, this printer handles it all. Other useful features include automatic double-sided printing which helps cut paper costs and two paper trays to hold photo and plain paper.

Print on CD and DVD
With the iP4500 you can personalise inkjet-printable CDs and DVDs by printing straight onto the surface. Use the CD-LabelPrint software to create exciting layouts by adding text and images.

Single Inks
All 5 Single Ink tanks can be replaced separately, minimising ink wastage and maximising savings. The CP760 and CP770 are both said to offer lab quality prints that will last for 100 years (presumably, that hasn’t been tested yet, otherwise these printers have been in development for a very long time indeed).

The CP760 offers a simple layout and intuitive interface, direct printing from a range of memory cards, and a 2.5” LCD display screen. Red Eye Correction and Auto Image Correction with Face Brightening also ensure that consumers get the very best quality prints.

The CP770 includes the same features, but it also comes inclusive with its own storage container – granted, it does look a but like a plastic Dulux paint tin, but its handy none the less. The more advanced CP770 also offers optional wireless printing capabilities and an optional battery pack.

The CP760 is due in shops some time this month, while you will have to wait a few weeks until June before its big brother, the CP770 is available. The Selphy range offers an affordable option when it comes to printing high quality photographs and images but I do genuinely have to question the design of the carrier for the CP770.

Canon Announces Two New Compact Printers is a post from: Gadgets and gizmos

Epson Stylus Photo R285 – Inkjet Photo Printer

Gadget Offers

Printers

Epson Stylus Photo R285 – Inkjet Photo Printer
Was £69.99, now £59.99

Get £10 off the epson R285 printer today.
