It has just been announced that a new Dell tablet is ready to join the ever more crowded market place. The Streak 7 has a capacitive multi touch screen and will run on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The device was first seen at the Consumer Electronics Show at the start of this year and the asking price of a smidgen under the £300 mark is sure to raise some eyebrows for the way it undercuts by around £100 the iPad 2 rival machine. Dell has officially announced the price for their Dell Streak 7 inch tablet, a competitor for the Blackberry Playbook, HTC Flyer and Samsung Galaxy Tab. They have opted for a fairly competitive £299 price tag which will have a fair few people considering their options when choosing a mid sized tablet. The Streak 7 inch sits slap bang in-between the modern day standard 4 inch smartphone and 10 inch (or thereabouts) tablets. It is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo which is rumoured to be upgraded in the near future to the tablet based OS Honeycomb....
