Activision’s Call of Duty release this year is expected to be Black Ops 2, which is developed by Treyarch, and while it is not yet announced, rumors keep on surfacing online.
Some new details were spotted in the Activision forum and they match the ones in the Black Ops blog, where the game’s release date and new multiplayer modes were revealed. The post revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be launched on November 6, 2012 and will feature a new Escort multiplayer mode. The post was deleted by Activision shortly.
“This year, Call of Duty will return with its ninth instalment with Black Ops 2,” read the forum post. “As expected it will be following Treyarch’s previous game Black Ops. Its release date is set for the 6th of November.”
The developers are said to borrow the point system from Modern Warfare 3, but maps will be from Black Ops. Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed will be making its way to the game, but Infected and Team Defender game modes have been eliminated.
It is expected that the sales of Black Ops 2 will exceed of that of Modern Warfare 3, shattering all previous records.
