Compaq Presario SR5501The Compaq Presario SR5501 is an excellent budget PC that is even cheaper thanks to the PC World sale that’s now on. Ordinarily £349, you can currently get one for £50 less at £299 and for that price it’s difficult to beat the features you get in exchange.

Under the hood the Presario SR5501 relies on a 1.8GHz Intel Celeron dual core processor to deliver energy efficient power. The 160GB hard drive is ample for all but the most extreme file storage circumstances and the 1GB of RAM also ensures that you can not only run multiple applications at once without suffering the consequences but you can happily use the included Windows Vista Home Premium.

There’s also an impressive 19” TFT flat screen monitor included as part of this bargain package and a dual layer DVD rewriter. 6 USB connections enable you to connect virtually every conceivable device without having to shuffle the leads around every time you want to plug in your phone, your mp3, or any other USB device.

The Presario SR5501 from Compaq represents s superb value buy at £300 including the 19” monitor. A decent sized hard drive and a reasonable amount of RAM enable you to run multiple programs without suffering too much lag or delay and the dual core Intel processor packs a 1.8GHz punch.

Definitely worth the money, especially while it’s in the sale!
