Create music using your iPad with Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II

Audio company Line 6 recently unveiled its new portable MIDI interface, the MIDI Mobilizer II, which is designed to work with iOS devices and MIDI instruments. The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II enables users to turn their iPhones and iPads into recording studios that can fit into their pockets or backpacks.

The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II is the successor of the MIDI Mobilizer, which supports the CoreMIDI (used by Apple’s GarageBand and newer audio recording apps). It is used by connecting it to the iOS device and a MIDI controller or trigger, then open an app that runs CoreMIDI to start recording music.

“MIDI Mobilizer II makes portable music production easy,” said Line 6’s Mobile Products Manager Chris Grigg. “Anyone with an iPhone or iPad and a MIDI controller can connect MIDI Mobilizer II and be recording and playing music in seconds. And with new apps being developed all the time, users can access an incredibly wide variety of instruments, software and more.”

For users who don’t want to spend money on a recording app, Line 6 also launched the MIDI Memo Recorder. The MIDI Memo Recorder is a free app from Line 6 that lets users record, play and back up MIDI data. The recorded MIDI data can be exported for use with normal MIDI devices, such as guitar amplifiers, multi-effect processors and keyboards.

Line 6 is one of the world’s top manufacturers of amplifiers, effect processors, guitars, recording interfaces and digital wireless systems. The company is well-known for making the Variax line of guitars, which are currently the world’s best digital guitars.
