Doctor Who Says Goodbye to Daleks – Say Hello to Dalek Replicas

Steven Moffat may have killed off the Daleks for the time being but they could be back much sooner than he thought, especially if you have £3,000 to spend on a bbc endorsed replica.

These beauties are built to order using the same moulds, materials and specifications for the ones that appear (or used to appear) on Doctor Who. Fans of the show can choose from a range of authentic colours and can experience life with a Dalek because they also come with the same accessories, movement and style as the ones used by the BBC props department.

Each Dalek measures 5 foot 3 inches with moving plunger arm, a rotating dome and ronust casters so you can place it strategically around your home. Imagine wheeling it outside prime position for members of the family to be surprised by – sound hilarious, at least in my head!

Despite having amazing attention to detail and it looking authentic in every way, there are a few things missing. First of all, you can get in the Dalek but from the spiel on the Firebox page, this doesn’t sound safe. The second problem is that it isn’t remote controlled and can’t produce any sounds or movement on its own. Basically, this is a dead Dalek – possibly the best kind in when you think about it.

We don’t have a video of this behemoth yet, so until we have some hands-on time we’ll have to make do with this:

Is this the best replica available today?
