Codemasters have announced more details about F1 2011, which will be available on multiple platforms on September 24th 2011. The team has a lot to live up to after collecting a Bafta for the 2010 game which revolutionized F1 driving games, the new game will build extensively on multiplayer games and online gaming.

A new feature, entitled Go Compete! Will allow gamers to race against each other in split screen in full HD for the first time with up to 16 players competing against each other during a grand prix with the remaining 8 drivers being filled by AI competitors.

There will also be a brand new co-operative mode which will allow two drivers to lead a team for an entire season, this will mean the hunt for personal and team glory will be firmly in your hands. The main selling point of F1 2010 was its realism, the 2011 version has brought in realistic use of KERS and DRS which are two new technologies reflected from the ‘real’ championship.

Codemasters were given full access to schematics, designs and even team telemetry to ensure the gameplay is closely matched to the real thing, we wonder if that included the elusive bump from Monaco that wreaked havoc during this years Monte Carlo Grand Prix. All 24 drivers, teams and engineers have been used including the official livery of all the teams.

Two new tracks have been added to this years game, the brand new Buddh international circuit in India and the legendary Nurbergring.

Players will once again start off as a rookie, making their way to the top in a bid to become world champion. Along the way other new features will include improved press interaction, a new designed paddock and lots more celebrating and reaction after races. At this stage it doesn’t look like players will be able to port their profiles from 2010, this would have enabled players to carry on where they left off instead of having to start all over again.

Just an update to F1 2010, nothing special. Still no safety car in 3 years worth of development.

Safety car is no big issue. It would just ruin the 'game'. People would exploit it online. Causing incidents so they can catch up the leader. Unless they come up with a system that is flawless, there is no point. The problem is there is no flawless system.
