Today Facebook has produced a story of happiness which is very welcome when you consider all the horrible things going on in the world at the moment. Two pensioners who met on Facebook and fell in love have tied the knot just in time for the festive season.
Laurence Brocklesby (82) and Barbara Moore (77) are said to be looking forward to spending their first Christmas together as husband and wife after meeting on the world’s biggest social network four years ago.
Barbara discovered Laurence when she joined Facebook after being coaxed into creating a profile by her grand children; she saw Laurence’s profile and couldn’t resist a quick ‘poke’. She said “We are so happy to have found each other.”
The couple met up in the ‘real world’, hit it off and got married in July 2010. The rest as they say is history.
We love a story like this, have you heard any stories of people starting lasting relationships on Facebook?
