Fisher-Price to unveil the Apptivity iPhone Case for babies

Baby toy company Fisher-Price is set to unveil the Apptivity case, the first ever baby-proof iPhone cover, at the Earl’s Court Baby Show in London on October 28th.

The Apptivity case is a specially designed rubberized smartphone cover that protects your beloved Apple smartphone from drops, dribbles and grubby fingers. The iPhone Apptivity case was created after demand by Fisher-Price Lab designers, who have been testing baby-friendly smartphone covers to make the ultimate in iPhone baby protection.

“Babies love to copy mum and dad, it’s all part of learning about the world they live in,” said Child Development expert Dr. Deborah Weber. “As technology becomes a bigger part of everyday life, it makes sense that even the youngest members of the family are interested in taking part too. The Apptivity Case provides a safe way for babies to play and learn from baby-friendly apps without worry of them breaking the phone… or calling Australia!”

With the new iPhone cover, parents can now open their baby-friendly app and put their device inside the safe screen to stop the baby from accessing the phone. The Apptivity case comes with chunky handles and rattles are placed on both sides to keep babies busy when parents need to use their phones.

The Apptivity Case from Fisher-Price will be available at Mothercare, Toys R Us, Argos, Wilkinsons, ELC, Littlewoods, Boots and JDWilliams, and will be priced around £13. The case is suitable for babies 6 months+. The Apptivity Case is compatible with all iPhone and iPod Touch models.

What a great idea – wonder if they will bring out an iPad version??

Why is it only for iPhone. That's pretty annoying because I really need this but can't use it with my HTC, apparantly;(
