Most of us use social networking sites to share our ideas, media and to chat with friends. The bad thing about it is it is not very private and our personal information is not really that secure. Now, a new iOS app called Glassboard lets users set up and manage private groups.
The Glassboard app was developed by Sepia Labs and according to the company, the app was designed to be “private group sharing done right.” The company said that if you create a group, it will be completely private and there is no way for anybody to search for the group or any of its members. So, the only people who knows the group you created will be its members.
“Think of each board as a silo. If you have a board that shares dog pictures, and a board that talks about classic cars, neither group will ever know about the other,” said Sepia Labs in a statement. “Your dog pics will only be seen be the people in dog pics, and talk about classic cars will only be shared with the classic cars board members.”
What differentiates Glassboard from other social networks is the app’s emphasis on privacy. Your posts are only visible to your friends who have been invited in your group. Its content is not indexed on search engines and it cannot be re-shared with others. The group’s moderator can also kick people out of the group or remove it entirely.
The Glassboard app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store. To learn more about the app, you can visit its official website.
