There is a lot of buzz and excitement in the air about this weeks Google Doodles, yesterday we talked about the Google Dots/bubbles logo rumoured to link to a new standard in CSS. Today sees the Google doodle in a plain guise that fills with the glorious Google colours as you type your search query in the search box.
As always rumours have started about what this could mean, with many industry experts linking this weeks doodles to changes in the way Google shows its search results. Some of the comments on YouTube yesterdays bouncing dots logo ranged from “an amazing doodle today”, to “it’s disturbing”. There were similar comments posted throughout the day on Twitter as rumours grew about what it all meant.
Today Google’s colour filling logo is related to an announcement on search that will take place later on today in the USA. On Twitter Google teased “Our doodle is dressing up in its brightest colours for something exciting coming very soon…”
This announcement will probably be an update on the hotly anticipated real time search that Google is planning to roll out. This technology will allow the search engine to update search results as you type your search in, hence the real time search name.
At this stage we are mealy putting together the pieces of the puzzle, yesterday the Google doodle logo related to the CSS and HTML 5, so the announcement could be related to innovations in the Google Chrome web browser – we will keep you posted.
