The Google doodle is becoming quite a common feature on the world’s biggest search engine and I for one enjoy waking up to see a fresh new logo on the Google homepage. Saturday 13th November saw the big G celebrate the 160th birthday of Robert Louis Steven Stevenson.
Stevenson is the genius writer who penned classic stories such as Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Kidnapped and perhaps most famous of all Treasure Island – which is also the inspiration behind today’s doodle.
The doodle is created on a scroll, much like a traditional treasure map and features Long John silver (complete with his parrot, captain Flint), his ship and a big chest full of treasure. Users can click on the logo to find out more information and news about the last Mr. Stevenson and his work.
