Among the most eagerly awaited gadgets this year are the new Google Nexus Sailfish and Marlin designs.

The recent released of apparently leaked photos of these devices show us what to expect, assuming that they are genuine photos.

It has been suggested that the new phones will both be built by HTC. The Nexus Sailfish is the smaller of the two models, at 5 inches compared to the 5.5 inch size of the Nexus Marlin.

Apart from the difference in size, it is said that there is going to be very little difference between the two Nexus phones, with only resolution and power being the other factors that vary.

The photos that were released show the Nexus Sailfish with a full metal body and a fingerprint scanner. The front is completely button free, with the side featuring just a button and a volume rocker on it.

In terms of resolution, the Sailfish is said to come in at 1920×1080, while the Marlin phone is rumoured to have a 2560×1440 resolution. The Sailfish is to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, while the Marlin will have a slightly more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, according to reports.

The new Android 7.0 Nougat operating system should be featured on these phones. As for the release date, it looks as though we can expect to see them hit the shops at the end of September or possibly the start of October.

Do you like the sound of these new Nexus phones or were you hoping for something a bit different from them?
