Heat In A Click Gadget User Reviews

heat in a click heartThe name may be a bit of a mouthful, but the products produced by Heatinaclick could prove to be very useful if you want to stave off the chill of the cold weather this winter. The whole of the Heatinaclick Range consists of various sizes and shapes of heating pad. These are reusable and portable, with the intention being that you will carry the flexible, floppy pads with you and activate their heating properties when the temperatures dip. There are a wide variety of pads on offer with different intended applications.

You can get a foot warmer, a hand warmer, a face mask, a baby bottle warmer, a back warmer and a saucily-named pleasure pad which is basically a hot water bottle with a sexed-up name tagged on.

All of the Heatinaclick products use a toxin-free molecular reaction based on Sodium Acetate to activate the heating process and will hit maximum temperatures of 54 degrees. heatinalclickThat should prove to be toasty enough for every occasion, whether it is keeping your bed warm at night or your feet feeling fiery in the day.The liquid in each pad will become solid as part of the process and as the generated heat dissipates the pad will return to its solution form. The best thing about the Heataclick products is that each gadget is reusable multiple times.

What do you think, is this product worth the money? Has it kept you warm, or left you out in the cold?

Waste of money! The product is heavy once heated and does not take the shape of your skin. You have to boil it in the hope that it goes soft again, good luck with that it does not always happen. Much easier to use a heating pad or hot water bottle to be honest. This product is a con and expect to use it once if you're lucky..i bought 3 and by the time i got it home it had already turned into a brick, so i had to boil it, ruining my tea towel in the process, because you have to put it in a towel as well.

Briony. Did you take your heat pads back to get your money refunded. I bought one and it does seem a waste of money. I put a j cloth in the bottom of the pan as I could not fit a tea cloth and the pad in both together.

I am going to try it again, and see what happens. If still no good then I am going to ask for my money back, that is if they are still there.

    I bought mine in Poole.

I would like to get my money back but there is no address or phone number on the web site. They are not replying to an email that I sent. The product is a con for sure. If anyone knows how to connect with them that would be great.

I bought 3 of these pads also, I got them yesterday in Norwich and thought they seemed like a good deal while in the mall. The man on the stand told my mother and I that to reuse them you just pop them into a bowl of cold water for 5 mins then it's ready to use again. I have tried this and also using boiling water and the 3 of them are all still solid. I'm going to take them back when I go to Norwich in the hope that they are still there, if not I think I shall contact them on their website. You are right…….. A complete waste of money!

I took my heat pad back yesterday, and asked for a refund. The man on the stand said that he had to phone his manager first, which he did before he gave me my money back..I think that they do get alot returned.

If he wasn't prepared to refund, than I would have told customers not to wast their money buying these pads.

Good luck for when you take yours back. . .

    hey mae,

they refunded your money back ?

i just bought one today for my dad thinking it was a great idea for his back, so i tested it too see if it works, after you boil it and it just becomes rock solid again…

    please let me know thanks.

You're supposed to boil it and ensure all the crystals have gone. You are also warned when buying it(if having done research) that the object does form a hot solid, as that is the reaction causing heat taking place. If you don't want to dirty your towel, place it in a bowl and pour boiling water over it repeatedly until all crystals dissolve. Yes, they are over priced, but they are available on ebay for half the price. My only issue would be that they don't seem to last much longer than half an hour. The product is handy if needing warmth out and about as you don't need a kettle or anything to produce the heat. Down side is its only useable once until reset. Still think its a good little device and will be handy for the future cold months.

Girlfriend bought one of the shoulder ones in the mall , a little import rip off stand…u know the ones. Paid 60$us for this one….wow lotta coin for something they claimed worked up to 2 hours. So here's the truth…very nice to play with, fun to click and squish around but only lasts 30 mins and u need to boil about ten to twenty mins also while turning. Don't buy for aches and pains. Or get ripped off! Would really only pay about 10 to 20$ for this as its more like a mesmorizing toy. And the little stands at the mall say no refunds……hummmm yea I wonder why?

  8. mae November 28, 2010 at 4:25 pm - Reply

That little notice on the stand is not worth the paper it's printed on. They cannot refuse to refund if something does not do what they claim it should. I brought a back pad and got a full refund. You just have to stand your ground. I think that they do not like it when you are telling them what rubbish it is when there are other customers abouy.

I have several Heat in a click poducts that all work exactly as they were advertized. They are portable and ready to use wen needed. The larger the pad, the longer it stays warm. The smaller hand warmers have about 2 hrs of life. The boiling part is a bit of a pain, but as you ca get 10 hand warmers for about $20 on Ebay, the ability to reuse saves a fortune over the disposable ones. This off sets he pain of boiling them up. As for them not going back to liquid when boiling, just give them a little longer.

Mark, how much did they pay you to write this? Or you must have bought the only ones that work!. The large back one only stayed hot for around 20 minutes. My hot water bottle stays hotter for longer., ,

Well, I'm from Canada and I bought one last year for 15$. Yeah it really works, but you have to boil it until there's no crystal. Like the little note says : if there's even one crystal left, all the pad will turn solid again. My concern is about how many times will I be able to use and re-use it. I didn't use it a lot (maybe 10 times) and now the pad seems to be 1/3 empty !! How this could happen? since there's no leaks…

I am chilling on my couch loving the pad on my knees and the pad on my shoulders… this will be great for my massage clients, they don't burn the skin when on it directly so it will make my job 100 times easier.

I bought one for my mum and she uses it on her back almost every night. I just pop it in a big casserole of boiling water every morning and it's fluid again and ready to go. It will recrystallize if the crystals are not boiled completely, so it just needs to be left on the stovetop a little longer if that's the case. The heat in the back pad lasts about 2 hours. She says that it really is helping with her back pain. I'm shocked to hear how many people have had bad experiences with this product. I think it's a winner. I bought it on fishpond.com.au for $15.

I bought one on ebay, used it about 6 times and works well. I have found that you need to immediately play with it first if you want it to be soft otherwise you will get a hard solid.

But I paid $3 for 2 handwarmers off ebay, so totally worth the cash.

I bought this crap at a warehouse sale in hamilton that usually carries good products except for this one. I bought it, used it the day of and followed the directions to return it to its initial form and as it would cool it would recristalize and wouldnt work. I tried to return it and the guys (slimy jerks) said it was non refundable. When I argued with then until they agreed to refund me they scaned my debit card and must have hit cancel because the refund never came to my account. Their head office is in London UK which they tried to tell me was in Toronto ON. They also gave me a fake number to call to try to get rid of me. I would never buy this product it is such a hassle. A plug in heating pad or hot water bottle is way more useful and actually works the way it was intended to.

Spent $125.00. Two back packs; 4 hand warmers; pkg. of foot warmers for ma. Tried to take them all back as they would go rock hard and cold within 5-10 min. Was told the more you use them (boil them) the longer they will stay warm and soft. The guy told me that after the 6th or 7th time they are boiled, the better they will work. No refunds. Although on their site they say not to microwave, I thought, "What do I have to loose". First I boiled a back pack to get to liquid state then let it cool. Then wrapped it in a very wet tea towel and micro waved at 1 min. intervals. For 3 minutes total. Popped it in the waist band which I also bought. 12 hours later, it is still warm and mushy. It may not work again, but at least I got one good run out of it. I will stick with my rice bag, heating pad or hot water bottle.

What a piece of crap. DON'T BUY IT!! I mean DO NOT BUY IT.

Bought two back packs for $110 yesterday. I was told to heat it up to liquid after use. I thought how hard can it be. Saw they had a cooler to heat theirs on the counter. When I heat the packs up with boiling water they are still crystalized. Since they are not completely liquified they turn back to completely hard again. It's impossible to turn it back to liquid state again.

It's NO REFUND on the receipt. If they are selling a good product they would take the product back. It's refunds only – what would I want in exchange? Another piece of junk?

I bought a three pack. Great idea especially for those of us who live in cold winter climates. Did not even last 20 minutes. Each one was used only once. After boiling for 20 minutes still mostly solid. Had to add more water. ……..Pot is still boiling, still have crystals. HOW long am I supposed to boil water for. I could have had a baby by now.

  20. Ripped Off August 18, 2012 at 7:48 pm - Reply

Update, It has now been several hours of boiling. Will not cool without crystallizing despite boiling to the point of no crystals repeatedly. Even used a magnifier to ensure absolutely no crystals. Tried several times. For over $25 CDN and less than an hour of luke warm heat combined – this product is an absolute rip off!!! The company has an F rating with my local BBB. DO NOT BUY! I repeat DO NOT BUY!

Do not Buy. I promised myself to always google something before I buy it. This time I was so desperate with severe neck & shoulder aches. Plus I thought, it cannot be that expensive. The lady was talking to someone else and ignored me completely. I went away then came back. I am always in a hurry but she made me sit down and feel the shoulder pad. She was getting impatient coz the whole boiling thing was not making sense to me.

Anyway I had already decided to buy it. When I asked for the price, I understand why she made me sit. USD 172 but she said it was on special on that day only for half price. She was not going to be there ever again. I told her I did not have that kind of money. She told me to put it on my credit card and I told her I did not have it with me, She asked how much I had on my debit card & I told her USD 23. She said I was disrespecting her good product. She persisted with the logic that constant physio was more expensive, she could see the lumps on my shoulders and that I was not sleeping well. Anyway we settled on USD 46.

I used it at work the following day & tried to keep it on for as long as possible though it had gone cold after 30mins. When I removed it, it was rock solid. I realised my shoulders were really aching coz it had become really heavy.

I tried to restore it in the office by pouring boiling water on it but no good.

At home, I boiled it and it was good again. But the heat lasts 30mins only & then it is rock solid & heavy.

I tried to use it (the liquid form only) just after boiling & cooling slightly. It actually lasts longer than the other solid mass. So perhaps I will just be soaking it in hot water & using it

On the weekend I try to return it for a refund

I felt really pressured into buying one of the shoulder pads in the mall the other day, but I have given it a few tries and it seems to work rather quite well. 54degrees actually seems too hot to go on direct skin but it is quite nice through clothes. I haven't timed it to see how long the heat lasts but it seems quite a while. I thought the sales technique they used where they show you a price list of way over the top prices and then give you a lower (but still very high price) to make you feel like you are getting a bargain was a bit outrageous. Paid $60 in the end.

TOTAL RIP OFF CON-ARTISTS – I can't believe I fell for this product . I suffer from raynards, my hands were so cold that day the tips of my fingers were turning white. While at the mall I came across this very fast talking and pushy sales person selling these click heat things. It was so relieving to hold the hand warmers, my fingers immediately returned to normal color. My concern was the material used to encase this product, she assured me it was silicone. I bought 2 hand warmers and the larger one. When I got home I read the directions on the box and it clearly states the product is sealed in PLASTIC!, not silicone as she had stated. My concern with PLASTIC is it more than likely contains BPA, which I do not want next to my skin.
Went back to mall the next day to demand a refund! Guess What, they were not longer there! I will hunt them down and then some. I might be spending a little more time in the mall where they sell these and inform people that these are a TOTAL RIPOFF. THE SALES LADY OUT RIGHT LIED TO ME, SHE ADAMANTLY REASSURED ME THIS PRODUCT WAS ENCASED IN SILICONE NOT PLASTIC!

Buyer Beware. I see these guys at the mall in Ottawa reguarly today i decided to check it out. They are offering the neck ones for 100 bucks and you get one free… so about 50 bucks.

I was fast talked but said I wasn't interested after hearing the costs. It seems a little steep for plastic and sodium acetate.

This product is great! You must not be using it properly.
you need to boil it till it is ALL CRYSTAL CLEAR
then you let it cool of and then you click it. i have used mine over 20 times already and it still works.
i love it it helps all the pains and problems.
i also use it as a cold pack and works fantastic for that too.
the trick so it doesn't get hard is after you press it to quickly mix it up in your hands
so then you get a nice shape that goes around your neck.
it's not refundable which is kind of annoying, but it is like any other clothing store in Canada… you get store credit.
people that work there are very nice and friendly!
i love this product! i would recommend it to anyone.
it takes a little bit of work, but you need to work a little bit hard to receieve something that you love and will benefit you. my whole chiropractor and massage places uses it so i know it is very good.
people that are complaining are mainly complaining about the boiling because it takes about 30 minutes to boil down.

Well you guys who complain it doesn't work are really dumb, I bought a whole kit for $70 Canadian today, used every piece as it was a long day on my feet and body. I boiled my heat packs and all are cool and in liquid form. I'm assuming the complaints must come from people buying imitation products cause heat in a click works fine and will start selling the products myself in the next few weeks. I don't sell products I don't believe in and this is one product I believe in completely.

Yep they work 100% and yes you do have to boil all crystals gone or they WILL return to solid…some people don't understand science I guess 😉 I have had two for 2-3 years and they work like a charm. Keep them warm and softer longer by wrapping in a light towel. I have had one in my pillowcase and slept on it and stays warm most of the night! Don't trash this product it is good and works if you are patient and use it correctly…bonus is you can take it to work and use it in an emergency.

Okay I bought my set at a fair last year. I've used the hand, foot, and small square packs on several occasions. I have arthritus on my index finger that makes it difficult to bend at time and becomes painful. I use the small square pack on my finger and within minutes I can already feel relief. I actually wish they made one to go around my knee because I also have arthritis on one knee and when it starts to bother me I use the foot pad and place it on the side of my knee and again I get relief. My grand daughter has problems with occasional
sties and she loves using the small pad to apply heat per her doctor's instructions. I have had no problems whatsoever boiling them for reuse. All you need to do is follow the instructions…boil water…and I use a small dish cloth and put the pad inside and use a plastic clip to hold it in place. It only takes maybe 10-15 minutes for the pads to become liquid again then place them on the counter to cool off. Simple and ready to reuse. AND NO I am not paid or employed by this company…just giving my review on this product that so far have no negative comments.

  36. A J November 8, 2014 at 1:18 am - Reply

A total waste of money. Not very portable when they are rock hard. When out and about, you have to boil first to turn to liquid. False advertising by sales rep. Said would go back to liquid for reuse again. NOT SO. Purchased October 2014.

  37. Eddie December 21, 2014 at 9:23 pm - Reply

I've just bought the product and used it a few hours after purchase. I was told that I should just pour hot water over it and let it stand and the solution would liquefy again. I thought that it would be ok to pour some of the water from the kettle over it at the same time as making a cup of tea or coffee. Surprise, had to use a pot full of water and physically boil it for a full 10 minutes. (2KW stove top for 10 minutes) Power is a consideration in our country so the idea of using a chemical reaction to generate that much heat seemed quite an attractive proposition. Unfortunately, the energy required to re-liquefy the heat pad is exorbitant. My Happy Hugger or hot water bottle are a lot more efficient. The product also only stays hot for about 30minutes. In a world where we should all be trying to save power, this product is extremely energy inefficient. I' m taking it back for a refund. I feel that I have been conned and the product will never be used long term like a happy huger or a hot water bottle. It's just too much of a hassle .

Bought a back one & neck one at the Calgary Expo in 2013. While I feel ripped off on the price, (paid $100 for the 2, & they threw in 4 small square ones) they do work. Been using them since & while over time they form weird snowflake like crystals in liquid form, they still click & warm.
One of the most common complaints here is the "hard after heating" one. After you heat till clear, you are supposed to massage/knead the pack for a few minutes in your hands. This makes the pad soft, enabling it to wrap around any area you use it on. As it cools, it will start to harden, which is part of the natural process. I've also learned a little trick…I wait till I need to use it, (at home…this only works there obviously) THEN I heat it. I use it straight out of the pot, with a towel wrapped around it, as it's quite hot initially, & you'd burn yourself if you didn't use a towel. But this way, I get TWO uses before I have to reheat it. Also, last year I mentioned the snowflake thing to the Heat In A Click people, who were back at the Expo, & was told they will replace the product free of charge. I haven't tried yet because they technically still work.
On the downside, the heat doesn't last a long time…maybe 45minutes to an hour on the larger pads. But if you are using it for any illness/injury, you shouldn't use heat more than 15-20 minutes an hour anyways. But they aren't great for extended stays outside. I've bought disposable ones, & they don't last any longer either, so at least these are more cost efficient. And try to purchase on Amazon, because they are literally 75% cheaper than at a kiosk! (That burns my a** that I paid 3-4 times the cost at a table!)
I'd make sure you are buying the real thing, not a knock off. The company has been good with me, & the product works well if you follow the directions exactly. Also, I made a little "bag"/pocket out of a piece of flannel & some Velcro. I just slip it in the bag, Velcro it shut, then into the pot…easy peasy! No worries about it touching the sides of the pot, & you can use it dry too, as a cover for the pad. (But I just use mine to heat the pads.) As I said, try heating right before use, that way it stays hotter longer. Just remember to use a towel between it & your skin initially, as it's VERY hot right out of the pot/boiling water.

Waste of money!! Biggest waste of money do not purchase these they burst easy causing the smell of vinegar and baking soda all over your hands they take forever to dissolve they do not last more than three hours of heating like they tell you it's a waste of money. You spend more water and electricity trying to dissolve these things than it was worth. My son bought some at the Arizona State fair waste of our money . Like other people have said they're basically a science project used for fun not intended for heating purposes or use for humans. These things are over priced pieces of garbage. I have contacted the company today to try and obtain a full refund these were bought in October 2015 we only use them twice and I already want my money back. I cannot express how much this product is a waste of money. I wish I would have bread the other reviews then I would have known that this was all a scam and waste of money.

    Waste of money, horrible company.
The heat only stays for about 30 minutes, not the supposed two hours. Then it becomes rock solid and does not take the shape of your shoulders so it's very uncomfortable and heavy. Then you have to boil it again, which defeats the purpose of it being a more convenient method of heat. Save your money and buy a hot water bottle.
I tried to return the products for a refund but I was told they couldn't give a refund because it was a final sale. The salesman did not let me know that it was a final sale. I contacted customer service, where I was told to send a picture of the recepit. I did, and they were very rude to me and said that it "very clearly said no refunds" on the recepit. After the payment is already made, being told its no refunds is pretty useless. This company is out there to scam you into buying something that is useless and doesn't work. Don't fall for it like I did.
