Last week Vodafone revealed that they would exclusively stock the HTC Sensation on contract for one full month and today play.com has rolled out the phone sim free. Like Vodafone Play are offering the Android powered sensation on pre-order with a June 30th release date.
It won’t come cheap though, the sim free price has been set at £499.99 which undoubtedly will fluctuate as other retailers such as Best Buy roll out their prices, price wars are frequent with online retailers with phones such as the Galaxy S in 2010 fluctuating all the way up to release.
The HTC Sensation will come with a huge 4.3 inch HD touch screen and will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and initially run Android Gingerbread. Interestingly the phone only comes with 1GB of internal storage which can be expanded via the micro SD slot. HTC have been much more generous with RAM, installing 768mb of ram which should make multi tasking a speedy affair. Another area where the Sensation flourishes is photography, the 8MP rear camera is also capable of shooting HD video. The front facing VGA also provides video calls and posers the chance to take pictures of themselves.
