iPad owners Receive £/$100 Refund after iPad 2 Launch Event

If you have recently purchased an Apple iPad only to be disappointed and perhaps angered by the arrival of the iPad 2 you might be pleased to hear that Apple are offering $100/£100 cash back to soften the blow.

Basically if you purchased since 16th February you are eligible for the refund, sadly this is only applicable if the iPad was bought via Apple’s own online store or land based outlets. People who have purchased via other retailers are unlikely to have a claim.

Apple is undoubtedly hoping that owners will take the $100 and put it towards a shiny new iPad 2 (no rhyme intended) and some might actually be tempted. The iPad 2 is thinner, comes with a dual core processor which is 9 x’s faster, sports dual cameras and is thinner and lighter.

UK residents are also eligible for a refund, Macworld says that anyone who has purchased an iPad within the last 14 days can simply take their receipt back into the Apple store to claim their £100, and again this only works in Apple stores.

Do you think Apple has done the right thing by offering cash back on recently purchased iPad’s?

Should be for all purchasers, to send in the receipt and receive a rebate, not only those who purchased at an apple store or online because apple still gets the profit no matter where the ipad was purchased.
