Austrian company Bracketron has announced the availability of the world’s first motorized in-wall dock for iPads. The dock, which is called the iRoom iDock, is designed to mount the Apple iPad tablet into the wall in any room.
The iRoom iDock can be mounted to stylishly integrate the tablet into any room. A motorized docking system opens and closes the dock to secure and store the iPad. It also includes both power and composite audio connections.
The iRoom iDock will work with both the first generation iPad and iPad 2. It is available in opal white and piano black to perfectly match the iPad’s design. An optional brushed aluminum color, which can be used to add elegance to the dock, can be ordered separately.
A one-touch proximity sensor recognizes when users are nearby, opening the iDock. When it is open, users can place the iPad inside and it closes automatically after ten seconds. The proximity sensor can be disabled to lock the tablet permanently in place. The iDock also automatically charges the device when mounted. What’s good about it is when users experience a power outage or overload, it opens automatically, allowing you to remove the device.
The iRoom iDock is available in both portrait and landscape models. No prices are listed on the product’s website, but Geeky Gadgets revealed that some suppliers list the prices at around £571 to £625.
