JOYSTICK-IT brings arcade-style gaming to your smartphone

While touchscreen devices such as the iPhone and the iPad have proven to be extremely popular gaming devices, other games that require directional input are difficult to play and it is easy to lose track of the touch screen’s control pads. The JOYSTICK-IT Arcade Stick is a simple accessory that can solve this problem. It is installed by sticking it over the onscreen control panel to provide a physical joystick when playing games.

JOYSTICK-IT features a solid aluminum construction and it does not require batteries or wires to run. The device has no moving parts and has a circular bottom so you can roll it around to make the outer edge make contact with the screen. The JOYSTICK-IT can be installed and removed easily on your device’s touch screen and it works just like an ordinary arcade joystick.

The device is not only made to function on only the iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 7 users can get in the action as well.

The foam at the bottom of the device mimics finger presses so that it will be read by the phone’s capacitive touch screen. It will only work with games that use virtual directional pads, like Age of Zombies, Pocket Legends or Pacman, so you won’t be able to use it in games like Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja.

JOYSTICK-IT is available for £12 (iPhone) and £16 (iPad). You can also buy a combo pack for £22.
