In May, Japanese gaming company Konami announced that they will launch the new Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, which will compete directly with EA Sports’ FIFA 2012.
The company said that they will be upgrading the game’s AI engine and it will have a renewed focus on attacking plays. Defensive plays have also been revamped, enabling gamers to switch to their chosen player using the right analog stick. Positional defending and zonal marking have also been improved.
Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka, the game’s creative producer, said: “For me, the ultimate aim in the ongoing PES series is to match what people see when they go to a match or watch a big game on TV with what they experience on their console.”
“As such, in consultation with football fans across the globe, we have been working non-stop to isolate and determine how to make our game marry in with how real football is played. This is key to PES 2012, and key to providing the ultimate football experience within a console title.”
Today, the game developer released six new gameplay videos of Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, which shows gamers the improvements from last year’s football title. The released videos cover diagonal runs, zonal defense, zonal marking, overlapping runs, dummy runs and off the ball controls. The videos also show the serious improvement of the game’s AI.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii and PC this autumn.
