Flip phones aren’t as common as they used to be, but they still hold a certain amount of sway with people who want a bit of retro phone style in their lives.
Its good news for those people then that LG is bringing out the brand new Wine Smart phone. This piece of phone nostalgia comes with the latest Version of Android on it, so it’s not as retro as it looks.
The LG Wine Smart phone also has an 8 megapixel front camera on it and a 0.3 megapixel rear one. The touchscreen is 3.5 inches in size and has 480 x 320 resolution. Apart from that, a more unusual feature is the safe keeper one. What this does is let the owner’s family and friends know if they suffer a problem and don’t use the phone for quite a long time. Interestingly, there is also a button specifically for using an instant messaging app too.
Aimed at Older Users
According to LG, their first flip phone in 7 years is aimed mostly at older users in the Korean market. Among the other features on this new phone there is an FM radio and 4G of storage space, along with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage space can be increased through the use of a microSD card.
For the moment, it seems as though the Wine Smart is aimed mainly at the Korean market, but it will be interesting to see if LG decides to bring out a similar type of flip phone in other markets now.
