We have just logged off from the live press conference by LG. The announcement was about the launch of their new LG Optimus One and LG Optimus Chic smartphones which both powered by Android Froyo (2.2) incorporating some powerful Google apps. The live demonstration showed what the two phones are capable of, which LG say creates the ultimate in Smartphone experience.

The LG Optimus One and Chic are two of the earliest adopters of Android 2.2 also known as Froyo. The new Android platform can triple internet browsing speed and offers seamless multi-tasking, it is clear LG are going for speed and efficiency with their Optimus range.

The two phones also allow users to sync with their outlook calendar, a useful feature for keeping your day to day events in check on the move. The presentation showed the impressive integration of Google apps such as Google Voice Search™, Google Voice Actions™, Google Goggles™, Google Shopper™ and Google Maps™ with Navigation. The most impressive feature for us was the voice actions, which included the ability to write a text message as you speak.

LG’s wanted to create a Smartphone that appealed to the majority of consumers; they spent a lot of time performing market research and took users opinions and requirements on board before and during the design and manufacturing process.

“LG is offering the gateway into the Smartphone world with the LG OPTIMUS One and the LG OPTIMUS Chic that offer the distinctive benefits of smart phones, in intuitive, approachable packages,” said Skott Ahn, CEO and president of LG Mobile Communications Company. “LG has a vision of helping people access information fast and easily, no matter where they are.  We believe the OPTIMUS series will play a significant role in accomplishing our vision.”
