With our vehicles getting more and more connected all the time, it is no real surprise to see that smartwatch functionality has now been add by Ford.
This comes in the shape of the MyFord mobile app, which only works on certain of the company’s cars for the time being. Sadly, it doesn’t let you drive the car just using your watch. However, it does let you adjust some of the vehicle’s comfort settings and see data in this way.
Even before you put your foot on the accelerator there are some things you can do using this app. These involve checking the details of the mileage. Seeing what your last trip was and so on.
Personal Driving Score on Screen
Perhaps more interesting for some drivers will be the personal driving score indicator that pops up on the screen of the smartwatch. This is a clever idea by Ford to encourage their drivers to be more responsible out on the road. It lets you see how efficiently you are driving the car through the use of green leaves
Additionally, you can use the MyFord app with your watch to see where the car. It even includes driving directions in case you have left it somewhere you are unfamiliar with.
You can get the new app for Android Wear and the Apple Watch right now. At the present time, MyFord for smartwatches works on the following models of car; Ford Electric, Ford Fusion Energi and Ford C-MAX Energi.
