The launch of three new Xperia Z5 phones from Sony has raised a lot of eyebrows, especially as one of them promises to be the world’s first ever 4k phone. Other advances include an improved camera that is said to take the best mobile pictures ever.

The announcement of the new Sony Xperia Z5 phones was at the IFA even in Berlin. Instead of just one new device they came out with 3 different versions. Even the most basic model has a 23 megapixel camera and the fastest autofocus (0.03 seconds) in any smartphone camera.

All of this adds up to a smashing camera that can take action snaps of moving objects with little or no blur. It is also waterproof, has a cool look and a 5.2 inch 1080p screen. On top of all that, the Xperia Z5 has a fingerprint scanner to make unlocking the phone easier and more secure.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact model is, as you would expect, smaller. It offers a 720p 4.6 inch screen but still has the exciting camera tech used in the base model. In addition, both of these versions have an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor inside them.

However, the really intriguing part of the launch involved the Xperia Z5 Premium. This model has a 5.5 inch screen with a resolution 4 times better than on the standard Z5 phone. Footage filmed in 4K will obviously look fantastic on here but that isn’t all. It will also upgrade any high definition video to 4K resolution for you.

The Xperia Z5 Premium comes with 32GB of internal space and can also take a 200GB microSD memory card when you need more room. The Premium phone will be out in November of this year, while the standard Z5 and the Compact model will be released a month earlier.
