Sky HD Price ReductionIt’s a good week for gadget lovers, television lovers, and gaming lovers across the country this week. Sky has announced a reduction of £100 on its Sky HD service, which offers High Definition programming as well as the features of a PVR, or Personal Video Recorder, similar to Sky+. Subscription for the service is £10 a month for the Sky HD Mix.

It’s also widely believed that the Xbox360 is about to reduce its prices again, in order to further compete with the Nintendo Wii and further compound the significant price difference between the Microsoft console and Sony’s Playstation 3.

The Nintendo Wii has consistently sold at £180 a piece and has sold a huge number of units. Recent price drops in March have seen the bog standard Xbox 360 drop in price to £160 with other models costing between £200 and £260. The Sony Playstation 3 is out on its own as being the most expensive at £300 although you do, in fairness, get the benefits of a Blu Ray player with that.

It is believed that Microsoft is set to further reduce these prices, last time citing that they want the machine to become the mass market multimedia player of choice.
