The classic Pac-Man arcade game remains one of the most iconic games ever made, some 35 years after first being released.
Well, the good news for fans of the pill munching blob is that he is back in a brand new mobile game. It is called Pac-Man 256 and it looks like it could be pretty good.
The name of the game comes from an infamous glitch in the original game that caused the screen to go all weird after players after getting to level 256. In this new version of the game that annoying glitch is re-created deliberately as a terrifying super-villain. When this happens, a raging storm of symbols and broken down characters go chasing after our round hero. The classic old baddies Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde are still here as well.
Looking for Dots and Ghosts and Stuff
Of course, Pac-Man continues in the way you would expect him to; looking for dots, fruits and ghosts to gobble up along his merry way. The game is being released by Bandai Namco Studios, who have teamed up with the developers at Hipster Whale for this new game.
Tatsuya Kubota is a Bandai Namco executive and he said that they couldn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Pac-Man. He went on to say that the end result is a “stirring game” that is partially based on “elements that made history”.
The release of Pac-Man 256 for mobile phones and tablets will happen this summer, although no exact date for the release has yet been given.
Will you be tempted to play the new mobile Pac-Man game?
Thank you very much
