Royal Mirror: Become a Prince or Princess Via Augmented Reality

Have you ever wondered what you would look like as a Prince, or more accurately a Duke or Duchess of Cambridge? Well the team from Total Immersion and apptronic can help with their new app called the Royal Mirror.

It utilizes the very latest augmented reality technology that tracks the users face whilst superimposing the face either the Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) or the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) over your own. The whole system works extremely well and even tracks in real time; users can take still shots and then share these with their friends via email and Facebook.

The app works on the same principle as the firms Zombie Mirror which as the title suggests makes you look like a member of the flesh eating un-dead. Both apps are available from the Apple app store for 59p each, we have to say both work really well and just hope they introduce the ability to record video using the technology in the future – this would make for some truly hilarious YouTube moments.

The team at Total Immersion live and breathe augmented reality; they have designed several pieces of tech that will become the future of retail in the near future. One of the more interesting uses could be to virtually try on spectacles, clothes and even jewellery.

We can’t wait to see how this technology develops over the next year or so. For now you can enjoy this fun app and become Royalty for just 59p
