Samsung has taken the veil off of their second generation tablet, the Galaxy Tab 2 will utilise the brand spanking new Android Honeycomb 2.3 and a lightening quick Dual core processor, and will the specs be man enough to trouble the iPad, let’s see.
The Galaxy Tab 2 touts a 1GHz Dual Core processor, which is one of the most powerful around at the moment capable of running the tablet based Honeycomb with multi-tasking at high speeds. This is fairly impressive when you consider the tab is only 10.9 mm think and weighs in at 599 grams compared to the iPad’s 13.4 depth and 730 grams weight (3g and Wi-Fi model).
The screen size has been increased from 7 inches to 10.1 inches, so bigger than before and 0.4 inches larger than the iPad. The screen offers multi-touch control and full 1080p HD playback offering 30 frames per second and 1280 x 800 pixels.
It comes equipped with two snappers, the front facing offering 2.0 Mega Pixels for video calls and the rear offering 8.0 Mega pixels with an LED flash capable of shooting in full 1080p HD at 24 frames per second.
A whole range of apps, including the huge catalogue of Google apps, will make full use of the built in Gyroscope, Accelerometer, digital compass and proximity sensors. All very impressive and a shade more than what Apple currently offers.
Samsung have built the Galaxy Tab 2 to work over HSPA/EDGE/GPRS networks and have kept to traditional stereo speakers and 3.5mm headphone jack.
When the tablet goes on sale it will be available in both a 16GB and 32 GB version.
Has it got what it takes to rule the tablet wars in 2011?
Samsung tab 2 has all it takes to capture the market – if priced right ! Remember Apple has the loyalty at least till Steve Jobs dies of pancreatic cancer ( No I love Jobs but the truth as seen in recent youtube video is he is terminally ill and has less than 6 months on Earth)
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is 10.1 inch, so finally Samsung agrees that "Size does matter".
is this available in chrome that is black color in front n white on back like the samsung galaxy tab 7 inch version
Well I also think size does matter here. with the galaxy tab 7″ I got rid of my laptop during travel as it fits exactly and nicely in my pockets of shirts and Jackets or for those “crazy” enough in a trouser pocket. Great stuff.
