Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Inch Spy Photos Reveal Specs

The Samsung Galaxy Tab’s middle child, AKA Galaxy Tab 8.9 has yet to be released but that hasn’t stopped Pocket-lint taking a few sneaky photos of it today. It has been spotted being removed from a cloaked table at CTIA mere hours before it officially goes on show.

From the photos it looks much like the 10.1 inch tablet that Samsung unveiled during Mobile World Congress – well apart from the size of course as it has a smaller frame and slimmer depth than the 10.1 model and more importantly the iPad 2 (by a cats whisker).

A photograph of the specifications sheet uncovered that it will run Android Honeycomb, sport a 1GHz processor, weighs in at 470 grams and is only 8.6mm thick, perhaps this is what Samsungs president was talking about the other week when he said their tabs had to be thinner?

Other specs that have been leaked include a new software layer designed by Samsung that adds an ‘App tray’ at the bottom of the device; this will allow an Apple-like way of switching between open apps quickly.
