Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham City, the highly-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed adventure game Batman: Arkham Asylum, will be launched later this autumn with a Collector’s Edition bundle that comes with Batman-goodies.
The game’s publishers will now be offering various costumes and skins that players receive when they pre-order the game from different retailers. According to a report at the ArkhamCity website, fans managed to compile a list of the choices of attire available and how you can get your hands on them.
Among the six costumes is the 1970s blue and gray outfit from the TV series Batman, which can be obtained by pre-ordering at ShopTo (UK) or at Toys ‘R’ Us (US). Another popular skin is the Batman Beyond costume from the animated TV series, which is an all-black capeless Batman costume that covers the whole face and has a red Batman logo across the chest. This skin can be obtained by pre-ordering from GameStop (UK) or from MightApe (New Zealand).
There is also a skin from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, which features an older and larger Batman. It can be obtained by purchasing the Collector’s Edition from all participating stores.
Reports say that these skins are available for download on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. The Robin Challenge Maps bonus feature, along with a limited edition Red Robin outfit, is exclusively offered by Best Buy.
Batman: Arkham City will be launched on October 18th 2011.
