Steve Jobs’ biography to include his resignation

The first and only authorized biography of Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs, which is set to be launched on November 21st, will be updated with news of his surprising resignation last Wednesday.

Simon & Schuster, the book’s publisher, said that the highly-anticipated biography, which is written by biographer Walter Isaacson, will include the former CEO’s announcement last Wednesday from his point of view.

Tracey Guest, a spokeswoman from Simon & Schuster, said that Isaacson “speaks to Jobs regularly and is still working on the final chapter of the book.”

The biography, titled “Steve Jobs,” is based on over 40 interviews with the Apple founder and over 100 interviews with his family, friends and colleagues. The book also promises interviews with Steve Jobs’ enemies, ex-girlfriends and fired colleagues, which will make it a little more interesting.

Jobs did not demand to review the book before it was sent to the printers. There are a number of Steve Jobs biographies, but this is the first one that has his blessing. The publisher said that Jobs “asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off limits and instead encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly.”

Steve Jobs made a very surprising announcement last Wednesday that he would step down as the chief executive officer of Apple due to health reasons. He will be replaced by Apple’s Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook.
