Tesco Offers Tablets as Well as Potatoes and Pot Noodles

There are a few good reasons for making a trip to your local supermarket but is buying a tablet computer one of them? It might well be if Tesco’s new tablet takes off.

The name for this computer is the Hudl and the details released so far make it seem like something which might actually be worth putting in your trolley with your potatoes and Pot Noodles.

The Tesco Hudl is going to come with the very latest version of Android n it, an HD screen, expandable storage space and a respectably powerful 1.5 GHz processor.

The Tesco brand isn’t marked very obviously on it and at it looks pretty much like any other tablet of its size (7 inches). However, a tap on the T in the bottom left corner gives you direct access to Tesco facilities such as internet shopping and their Blinkbox on demand movie service.

A Crowded Market

hudlIt is a crowded market place which the Hudl is going to be entering, so it will be interesting to see how it competes against the many other table models around. Pricewise, it is going on sale at £119 and the low price and Tesco brand might be enough to make people forget that it isn’t really a recognised electronics brand.

The latest reports suggest that tablets will probably be outselling PCs by the end of the year. Despite the growing price gap between the iPad and budget Android tablets like this the Apple device is not expected to suffer greatly from the launch, according to industry analysts.
