The tablet wars look like hotting up this year and one of the big contenders is about to get rolled out.
The EEE Pad transformer tablet from ESUS is now available on pre order in the UK with Amazon and it is almost £20 cheaper than the iPad2 16GB. If you want to get hold of one then ordering it now means that you should have it by the end of April.
It runs on the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system and comes with more RAM, better camera resolution and better external ports than the second generation iPad. Having said that, the Apple device is thinner, lighter and will give you a better battery life.
The EEE Pad has a 1GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 10.1 inch touch screen and HDMI and USB connectivity options. You can expect to get 8 hours of life out of the battery. As well as Amazon, this new tablet will also be available soon in a lot of UK retailers.
One of the other possible winners of the tablet wars, the Motorola Xoom, is said to be getting set for a release next week. While the price on the Xoom hasn’t yet been confirmed, the general feeling is that it will be the most expensive of the three tablets. Now we will have to wait just a little bit longer to see which model turns out to be the biggest seller.
Would you choose the iPad2, the Xoom or the EEE Pad?
