Xbox Diamond Streaming Service to be unveiled at E3?

E3 is just around the corner and rumours and speculation are still flooding in, the latest snippet relates to a new video streaming service from Microsoft. The Xbox doesn’t lag behind the PS3 in many aspects, usually matching Sony at every opportunity which is why a video streaming service has been on the cards for some time now. If rumours are true the service will be named ‘diamond’.

Although it will debut at E3, Diamond won’t launch until November and will bring with it a range of new services and providers for one flat monthly fee. At this stage it is thought Hulu, Netflix and ESPN have already signed up which supports the theory it will launch in the USA first.

Sony already provide UK on demand services from Channel 5, 4OD, BBC iPlayer and Lovefilm. Microsoft will need to strike similar deals to keep up with the ever expanding features that modern gamers and entertainment lovers now demand.

Everything about the win rumours article makes sense, apart from the timeline suggestion. We doubt that Microsoft would reveal their master plan to world and then make them wait four months to get their hands on it. If Diamond is unveiled at E3 then it is highly possible that Microsoft has already put the infrastructure in place to roll out the service quickly.

Would you subscribe to Xbox Diamond, if so what would you want in return?
