The cheeky little picture which Rovio put out a week or so ago let us know that another variant on their staggeringly popular Angry Birds game was on the way.
Now it has been confirmed that the new release will be called Angry Birds Star Wars. That’s right; a classic of the games world has been teamed up with the ever popular sci-fi film. The Finnish games developer has linked arms with Lucasfilm and promise to bring us a game which will take us from “the deserts of Tatooine to the depths of the Death Star”. It is said to bring the best elements of Angry Birds in a game set in a galaxy far, far away.
Our friends with the feathers are going to be playing the parts of some of the most well know Star Wars characters. For example, the Red Bird will be given the task of being Luke Skywalker.
Who Plays the Dark Side?
Of course, we need an enemy and you have surely guessed by now that those darned pigs are going to be the dark side which you need to fight against. The music and the different levels will all be Star wars influenced and you can also expect some related merchandising to hit the shelves soon.
Roll up, roll up for your Angry Birds Star Wars toys, costumes and table games. Hey, if there is a lucky coincidence then they might even be available in time for Christmas.
The game itself will be available for playing on the 8th of November. There will be versions for intrepid winged Jedi to play on iOS and Android devices as well as good, old fashioned computers.
