After battling those green pigs we all hate (or love because of their cuteness) so much, space will be the next fighting grounds for our beloved Angry Birds.
Game development company Rovio, creator of the smash hit Angry Birds, said that the next part of the Angry Birds saga will be taking place in space. The company even made a teaser site for it.
“Angry Birds Space is a completely new game with innovative new gameplay, but with some of the familiar Angry Birds elements that fans already know and love — plus some surprises,” according to a blog post on Rovio’s website. “We’re going to announce more information in early March, and on March 22nd we will launch simultaneously in mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing. Not only is this a first for us as an integrated entertainment company, but the first time this has ever been done for a mobile game!”
Although there aren’t much on the teaser posted, the “Space” in the title highly suggests that players will be flinging birds in space and the game will feature new physics models. According to Yahoo, players will be shooting birds on new planets while “contending with zero gravity, leading to new gameplay elements like slow-motion puzzles and ‘lightspeed’ destruction.”
The website also said that National Geographic and NASA have signed on as the new game’s launch partners.
